Finally, the time has come to show you the biggest project I am currently working on. Since I really love Daenerys from Game of Thrones, I saw no other way than to cosplay her. I had a hard time deciding which outfit to choose, because she has so many beautiful ones, but I decided to make her iconic blue dress she wears in season 3. (But probably all of her other outfits are still on my wish list now… oh well :D). If you want to see how I progressed, you should definitely read on. Also, I am Khaleesi and I command you to! 😉
Recently, I had some kind of unfortunate accident happen to me at the hair salon: my beloved hair has been dyed a dark red/ burgundy color. At first I was frantic, seeing that my hair was dark and full of terrors, but after I came to terms with it, I decided to take on Melisandre’s half-up hairstyle. Unfortunately, I didn’t take pictures during the process on the first try, but I made up for that when I did the style again for a festival (for which I dyed my hair in a brighter, more vibrant color. I liked that one a lot more 🙂 ) It was kind of windy that day, so please excuse the mess 😀
Here we are again. Back for another recap of what I have been up to in terms of pop-culture. I’m sorry that I missed the opportunity to share with you for the last 3 months, but I hope I will be able to keep you updated in the future.
You might notice the little hearts ❤ next to some titles. These are the ones I enjoyed the most, so kind of my monthly favorites.
However, without further ado: here is everything I finished in August. Short & spoiler-free as always! Enjoy ❤
Usually, I am not the most creative person when it comes to gift wrapping. But for this present, I decided to go all out. Amongst some other things I wanted to give a copy of the Walking Dead compendium, so I used TWD as inspiration for the whole gift box. I’m really proud how it turned out, so if you are interested to surprise some fellow zombie-lovers, please go ahead and read more 🙂
Oh my, I’m late with this one. So, april is over and I’m afraid it hasn’t been a great month for books and games (again). However, I finished quite a few comics beyond my usual Batman issues. I will share my opinions short and spoiler-free as always, so feel free to keep reading. 🙂
These are definitely the droids I’m looking for! This is not a still from the Star Wars movies, but a picture I took from my totally awesome bookend. It is not only useful to support my Batman comics, but it looks so very pretty as well. It is made from wood, with a typical picture of the Tatooine skyline with its two suns in the back, a ground covered in sand and action figures of C3PO and R2D2. And not only because I adore R2D2 to obnoxious extents, this is probably my favourite gift I have ever received, but because it is all handmade. See for yourselves how great it has turned out! 🙂
I know I am really late with this post but I still wanted to share that I have been to the Distant Worlds concert in Berlin last Sunday (13/04/14) and give you a short recap. For those of you, who are unfamiliar with Distant Worlds: This is a concert series of music solely from the Final Fantasy games. The project has been launched in 2007 and the wonderful songs by Nobuo Uematsu have been brought to stage under the conduction of Arnie Roth. So how did I like it? What happened and how was it special in comparison to other video game music concerts? Please read on to find out! 🙂
So, from now on I want to use the format [Finished] to share with you guys, what I have read, played and watched in the last month. Unfortunately, I just came up with the idea to do so when march was halfway over. So please bear with me that I don’t have that much stuff to share, because I didn’t keep track of it all month long. I do not want to give detailed reviews, just to keep track and share a short spoiler-free opinion. However, there are a few books and comics to talk about, so please read on! 🙂
One of the most loved and cute furry creatures ever animated is Totoro from the movie “My Neighbour Totoro”. His cuddly appearance and gigantic grin have made him the trademark of Studio Ghibli and the being I would love to live next door to the most. Unfortunately, I have not discovered any black furballs lately, and none of the buses I use happens to be a cat. So I had to think of something else, and came up with the idea of making him my new roommate. In form of a wall decal, that is.
Besides being an awesome show, Game of Thrones provides us with lots of great hairstyles on nearly every female character. So today I want to show you how Arya’s hairstyle, which she wears in King’s Landing during her dancing training with Syrio Forel, is done. Arya is such a great character, and a pretty wild one as well. This is why I chose to make the hairstyle a little bit messy. In general, this is a really easy hairdo, but you will need long hair for this. Mine is a little bit too short to be accurate, but I still like the look, even though a few centimeters are missing.
I took pictures for every step, so I hope the instructions will be easy to follow:
